Enjoy your holiday weekend!!
I am so excited to have a weekend to spend with my family. It was a very hectic week. Angel survived cheer leading tryouts though she didn't make the cut. I am so proud of her for working so hard this week during the process and I guess we just have to assume that God has something else in mind for her this coming school year. It will be a busy weekend with church and family gatherings but we are all looking forward to having Monday off to relax and veg out a bit. Enjoy your long weekend and remember those who have given it all for our freedom!

Rip the Hallways/Highschool Icon
For those you who are asking about the Rip the Hallways Competition or have sponsored Angel, I wanted to give an update on the competition.
Since Angel auditioned for the Rip the Hallways competition in the fall of 2009 it was postponed twice. Once because the producers were seeking out more sponsors and attempting to make the show even flashier and bigger. The second time it was postponed indefinitely due to inclement weather on the western part of the state. It seems that the second postponement actually caused major issues with the host venue as well as loss of sponsors. Some contestants actually auditioned during the summer of 2009 and are still waiting. Unfortunately at this time we have heard nothing more about the show.
We did travel to Fayetteville in October for the pilot episode and watched the first round of contestants. You can see them and parts of their performances in the commercial made for the rest of the competition here http://www.beatmakerz.net/ripthehallways/
The kids are all extremely talented and the competition is fierce. This performance is the one that we thought was by far the best.

Hopefully they will get things taken care of soon so all these kids can show what they are made of.
If you sponsored Angel for the competition, I am moving forward with plans to advertise for you even though the show may not happen. I am working on updating all the links on her blog and youtube pages. We also have plans in the works to move ahead with her charity organization and will be advertising and putting out flyers recognizing our sponsors at that time. All sponsorship monies were used for furthering Angel’s music endeavors; either for travel expenses for the October trip to Fayetteville and in preparation for the show (costume, hair, make-up), misc supplies such as guitar strings, sheet music etc. If you have any questions about how the money was used please feel free to contact us. We would be more than happy to answer any questions that you may have.
Even if the show never happens there will always be lots of competitions and shows and Angel will always be
involved if at all possible. Check back often or you may miss the next step in her career!

Benefit Concert with Shane Tracy
Oh yeah, I forgot that Angel did a Benefit concert with a local artist/performer last month. His name is Shane Tracy and he is awesome!! You need to check out his songs on iTunes. You can also check out his website at http://www.shanetracy.com// He is kind of a cross between Jason Mraz and John Mayer. Very cool!
The benefit was for an organization call Million Meal Mission. http://millionmealmission.org/ Check out their website. It's a unigue idea started here locally, intent on providing meals (low cost, nutritional) to starving children here and across the world for just $0.17 a meal. They are doing an amazing job of making it easy for any of us to help out either through donations or by action. You can come out and actually help pack the meals.
Angel and Shane after the concert.
Angel before the concert. I love how this picture turned out.
Angel and Shane on stage performing.
Shane rocking out to one of his original songs.
Angel performing Bring on the Heartache. I never get tired of hearing that song.
Update on Angel
I just wanted to update on Angel. She is still working hard on her music and singing and even has a new song about to be posted. We just have to finalize the copyrights on it. But Highschool has proven to be very demanding for her. She is trying out for cheerleading this week and with the end of the school year rapidly approaching there are lots of tests to study for and lots of last minute projects. I am sure that she will have lots to say and post about this summer and if she has it her way lots of videos. So check back often this summer to see what's up!
