Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

So this is it the last two days of 2009! I'm so excited because this year so much has changed and I have been blessed with so much. Since December 2008 until December 2009 I have had over 49,000 video views and 350 susbcribers on youtube! I had the oppertunity to perform in Matthew's Has Talent, Godspell the Musical, and CATA's Annual Talent Showcase. I also made it into a magnet highschool for theatre where I am currently going as a freshman theatre student. Last but not least I auditioned and made it into Rip the Hallways a TV Singing competition that will happen in 2010. So much has happened this year and I can't wait to see what 2010 brings!

I wanted to wish you all a Merry Chirstmas, Happy Holidays, and a very Happy New Year!

Here's a song I did for Christmas:

Camp Electric 2010

Hey, so a lot of what has been on my mind recently is this camp called Camp Electric. It's a music camp in NASHVILLE that is focused around music and playing (or singing) that music for God! Plus it's partly owned by Toby Mac and every night you're there a live Christian band has a concert! I knew as soon as I heard about it that I just had to go, so I am planning on it as long as I can raise the money. Because it's not close and we're being put in dorms for a week it cost almost $800. So I am trying to think of ways to have fundraisers for it. If you have any ideas comment to this and let me know. If any of you are interested in the camp check out the site: http://www.campelectric.com/home
I have friends who have gone and they HIGHLY recommend it.

I'm finging out that things don't come easy just because it's God's will. YOU still have to work, but if he wants it to happen, it will.

TIP: If God is pointing your life in a certain direction or telling you to do something, strive for it and give it ALL you've got!

I Know You Won't

So for a long time, about eight or nine months, I have been wanting to sing a song by Carrie Underwood called I Know You Won't. It has some really high notes for someone like me who is not a soprano and one note holds out for about 22 seconds. I have practiced this song and made goals to sing it for this or that, but my voice just wouldn't let me. Well last night I was practicing for a competition called Rip the Hallways and I decided to sing it, just to see. I hit the notes and even though it was hard and a lot of work I was able to sing it three or four times. I just wanted to say that no matter how hard and impossible something seems just keep trying. I made a lot of nasty cracks and screeches and it took me a long time to get it, but I did! Never, ever give up because you MIGHT mess up or it MIGHT be too hard. Some things just take time to accomplish, but those are the things that are usually worth while.

Sorry I didn't blog yesterday, I was really busy. First I want to say that yesterday after learning two songs on guitar in an hour, I went to a Christian group at my school called YCI and led worship. This was amazing because I got to share the love I have for Christ with others and we all sang together. Hopefully they will continue to let me lead worship. I was really touched by how filled with God everyone was and they were all encouraging. If you play an instrument or sing and get the chance to play at your church or a youth group you should because it's a great chance to perform and worship.

I have very exciting news, well to me it is anyways. Yesterday my friend began teaching me piano. I didn't exactly start out easy. I wanted to learn My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. Thinking it would take me at LEAST a week to learn both hands together ( I don't have any real piano experience) he made a bet that I wouldn't be able to learn it before then. I practiced last night and though it was very frustrating, today in class I got it!! It was only the intro, but I plan on continuing to learn piano.

Tip: If you want to do something don't ever give up no matter what!

Miss Saigon Callbacks

Hey everyone! So you guys don't know this, but a few weeks ago I tried out for a county wide production of Miss Saigon. This production is very controversial, but it is also extremely pretty and the group of people in charge of it are very professional. There were almost 200 people who tried out and they cut about 50 people before callbacks. Well I got a letter for callbacks so I spent today at auditions from 11am-4pm. And let me say, those of you who think theatre is easy are wrong! It is a lot of hard work and very challenging. We had to spend every second available, which wasn't a lot. We rehearsed the dance they taught us and sung the song that they gave us music for. By 4:30 everyone had finally finished and even though it was a lot of fun and hopefully worth it in the end, we were all ready to go home. I have a disadvantage because I'm a freshmen; they usually don't get cast, but I tried my best and I should know in a few weeks whether or not I made it.

Tip: If you are going to go for theatre or any type of performing go for it, but don't think it's going to be easy or something to take lightly. Performing is a lot of fun, but it also takes a lot of hard work and many many hours.

God is Great

Ok, so today is Sunday so I went to church and my church has some amazing music. I go to Elevation and their music is so inspirational and the band is extremely talented! After going to Elevation for almost a year I have started to understand how every part of my music involves God because he is the one who gives me my talent. I love how I can get a high from Elevation music and I'm able to praise God through it, so I decided to write my first worship song. It's called You Are and it is a song about how infinitely perfect God is. God has blessed me so much and everything good I write about on here is because of him, so what better "official" first post then to tell you guys that when it all comes down to it, God is the reason for all of this!
Hope you guys enjoy it!

Welcome to my blog!

Hey!

I decided to start a blog so I can share my passion for music with everyone. I plan to tell you all about the challenges and wonderful experiences that come with trying to break into the music industry. I will write about all the things I learn and maybe even teach you something along the way. I would love to hear from you and hear all your thoughts and opinions about my videos and any tips and hints you can offer.
